journeys in the past, and those to come...

During the years myself and my family have covered several oceans and countries. This website will cover our experience from the Seven Seas to the Sahara.
Over the time, I hope to complete the reckords with a few stories about the ventures.

Sahara Journey 2005
southern Europe and Morocco

In the fall 2005, we went to the Sahara for a one month trip in Morocco. The kids took a leave from school and reported back using the Iridium satellite link. We did the journey with fellows from the SWES and spent a wonderful time in the Atlas Mountain and the Sahara Desert. Ending up on the western Morocco, where the desert meet the Atlantic ocean was a nice feeling. Hope to do it again. For this joureny I used my Landcruiser 100TD, which turned out to be a very good and comfortable "Dromedar Mecanique".

Barents Euro Arctic Expedition 2003
the Kola Penensula, Russia

With five vehicles I did the Barents Euro Arctic Expedition with my Landcruiser HDJ80-1 with a crew of three. A wonderful, and sometimes a challenging part of the world. We where wheeling from the west down to the White Sea and then heading north to the Barent Sea. This time, we where lucky to avoid most of the mosqs.
Soon, I hope to do this trip again.

Trans Pyrenean Expedition 2002
crossing the Pyrenean Mountains south to north

From the beginning we where twelve vehicles taking off to cross the Pyrenean Mountain with 4X4 trucks from the Medd to the Atlantic Ocean. At this time I used my previous Land Rover Defender 110 TD5. In the end of the journey we where only two left. The story from this journey will be found on the SWES homepage.

Africa Endeavour 1981
South Africa and Kenya

After racing in the Whitbread Round the World Race with my own yacht - I found South Africa as an interesting part of the world to explore. I went back to Cape Town and brought my current Landcruiser HJ61 on a ship. I did the major part of the western Africa in three months and met many wonderful people who were wheeling around in this part of the world.
I hope to find my reckords from this trip and publish them on the SWES homepage in the future.
