vehicles
the journey starts at the end of the road.

the tools to get there.

Below you'll find som samples of the vehicles we have used, both commercial and private. All trucks are based upon factory standard specifications and then modified by my little enterprice LongVoyage to match different requirements to coop with the demands stipulated by the missions they're aimed for. Durability, on- and off the road capability, comfort and long lasting value are significant ingredients for each truck. All our vehicles corresponds to the Swedish and EU MOT regulations.

Toyota
FJC RRE, RallyRaid.

LongVoyage have developed the standard Toyota Land Cruiser FJ to a high performance long distance endurance rally truck for RallyRaid of Europe. This is a natural development from older vehicles to the new series of high performance trucks. The Land Cruiser FJC has been developed by Toyota in Japan as a pure offroad vehicle. These trucks are not to be sold in Europe. This specific truck has been imported from United States with help from Toyota Sweden.

Toyota
Landcruiser HDJ 100TD

The Landcruiser 100TD is the only SUV in the world that manage to go everywhere. The new generation premium Landcruisers has become an electronic evolution. They still use the 4 litre turbo diesel from the 80-series but boosted it with electronic engine management system. This 100TD was re-built and modified by LongVoyage incorporating raised air intake, ARB front and rear bumpers with a Warn 4,5 ton winch, recover eyes, extra fuel capacity of 300 litres, reinforced suspension and shockers, new engine management electronics giving approximate 240 diesel horse power and increased torque. 100% diff lock on rear axle and transfer box.

Toyota
Landcruiser HZJ 78D-Mk2

The Landcruiser HZJ78 is one of the world's most durable expedition vehicles No doubts. The design is simple and straight forward without any electronics. It got the 2:nd generation straight in line 4,2 litre 6 cylinder 12 valve diesel engine developing modest 137 hp. However the torque and the refined drive-line makes this truck to a great tool for heavy expedition missions. This LC78 is re-built and modified by LongVoyage to very high standards regardless of cost. The modification involve re-built suspension and drive-line, sealed engine, axles and gearboxes. New transfer box etc. etc. Click on the link to the right to obtain full specifications and pics!

Land Rover
Defender 130 CC TD5

This Defender was tuned and modified by LongVoyage and become a great work horse but terrible for long distance driving. The engine was boosted, suspension re-built, driveline reinforced with new drive shafts, bearings and U-joints. Axles, gearboxes and engine was completely sealed. Bi-Xenon headlights. ARB-diff locks and so forth. The vehicle was sold in 2005.

Toyota
HiLux TDI

The Toyota HiLux Double Cab was just a try-out. However due to the new independent front suspension and a quite weak engine it was obvious for me that this was not my cup of tea. Never the less, the Hilux is one of the most durable trucks in the world and are widely used all over the world. Very easy the obtain spare parts and services. Everybody, from UN to gerillas and terorists are using this truck with success. Durable, - but boring.

Toyota
Landcruiser BJ42 D

"The Orginal Landcruiser". The BJ42 has been used for many years in the remote part of the world. Today, it has become a collectors car and mainly used as a "hobby truck". Extremely charming and durable. The kids loved it. Due to the lack of storage space I had to sell it - which I regret today. This little beauty was modified by LongVoyage in 2004 with new suspension and partly a new drive-line, Warn 4,5 ton recovery winch, rebuilt front bumper etc.

Toyota
Landcruiser HDJ 80VX-Mk2
Expedition Version

Our previous good experience with the Landcruiser HJ61 resulted in the modification of one of the most durable 4X4 trucks ever produced by Toyota in Japan - the Landcruiser HDJ80. I consider this vheicle as one of the World's best expedition 4X4 tools you can get. Toyota ended the manufacturing of this model in 1998 and it was exchanged by the current Landcruiser 100 series (with 6-cyl diesel engines and V8 petrol engines). This HDJ80 was modified by LongVoyage to match different purposes. Click on the link to the right - to learn more! This truck was sold to Johnny, a fellow member in the Swedish Landcruiser Club.

Land Rover
Defender 110 CSW TDI

Since Land Rover launched a new series of Defenders with the new TD5 turbo charged 5-cyl 2,4 litre diesels we decided to buy a brand new one and test it. The truck was modified by LongVoyage with reinforced suspension, front pumper, raised engine air intake and reinforced towing points.

Toyota
Landcruiser HJ61 TD

A large and quite heavy truck with high capacity. Good quality and extremely reliable. I used this vehicle for expeditions in Southern and Eastern Africa with great success. On the high roads it became a little bit uncomfortable due to leaf-springs both in the front and aft. However, the car was extremely durable and it did never let me down even during the worst condition. 6-cyl 4,2 litre 12 valve turbo charged diesel engine and a very rugged drive-line make this vehicle suitable for traveling in very rough terrain and on long distances.

Range Rover (Land Rover)
V8 MK I

My Range Rover MK1 with a Webasto sun roof, oil coolers for the gearbox and transfer box, made this truck to a comfortable expedition vehicle. However, due to the vast fuel consumption and the quite poor engine and driveline quality, I sold this vehicle after three years and changed to the Japaneese range of heavy duty 4X4 vehicles.

Land Rover
109 Series

This little truck was the first one in a series of many. It was modified to coop with adventurous traveling in Sweden, northern Norway, Finland and former Soviet Union. An extremely uncomfortable piece of machinery, charming but very unreliable vehicle. The Land Rover trucks are easy to maintain and repair. And that's the reason why there are so many left in working condition. Not to recommend for serious off the road driving or expedition missions.
